Richard Smith 87d341c61b Support derived to base conversions. (#3487) 
This is enough to support calling methods that take a `Base` or `Base*`
as their `self`. But name lookup doesn't look in the base class yet, so
base class methods aren't actually found.

Richard Smith 7dffa0c7ec Support for base: T;, .base, x.base. (#3450) 
No support for `extend base` yet, in an effort to minimize collisions
