kshokhin b6d660b4d9 Add nested array size deduction from tuple (#2909)
As a follow up to #2825 this pr implements size deduction for nested
arrays.
E.g. `var x: [[i32;];] = ((1,2), (3,4));`.

Also updated the pattern matching logic for arrays, now it also checks
element types of the tuple size being deduced from. As a result code
like `var x: [i32;] = ("foo", "bar");`(note, that it tries to init an
array of i32 with a tuple of strings) fails to compile with a pattern
match error instead of an implicit cast failed error.

Moved some common type-related logic used in type_checker.cpp and
interpreter.cpp to the separate file.

Richard Smith 212188a922 Prefer to put STDOUT CHECK at the end of the file. (#3073)
Allow interleaving of STDOUT and STDERR check lines. Put STDOUT lines
after the line they're attached to, and STDERR lines before. If no
STDOUT check line is attached to any line, then put them all at the end
of the file instead.

This is intended to better handle the case where stdout contains
unreplaced mentions of line numbers, and also reflects that stdout is
typically a consequence of the test rather than commentary on it, so
placing it after the test seems likely to read better.

Richard Smith 474b1eb24c Support builtin conversions that internally rely on user-defined conversions (#2881)
There are a few implicit conversions that are implemented by an `impl` of `ImplicitAs` that delegates to code in explorer:

- Converting between tuple types
- Converting from tuples of types to `type`
- Converting from tuples of values to an array type
- Converting between struct types
- Converting from a struct type to a class type

These conversions can all rely on performing more conversions for elements or subobjects, but previously those inner conversions could only be performed if they were built into explorer. This change instead uses the full implicit conversion machinery in explorer to perform these conversions, including searching for a user-defined `impl` of `ImplicitAs` when necessary.

For example, this permits a conversion from `{.a: T}` to `{.a: U}`, or from `(T, T)` to `(U, U)`, or from `(T, T)` to `[U; 2]` when there is a user-defined conversion from `T` to `U`.

Richard Smith 81e53886a8 Fix crash on use of uninitialized array element, and improve unformed checking (#2862)
Per #257, we should be treating unformedness as all-or-nothing, rather than being a per-field or per-array-element property. Previously we initialized an array with no explicit initializer as containing a sequence of uninitialized values, but that led to crashes when attempting to access those values, as the checks for reading an uninitialized value only expected values to be uninitialized at the top level.

Also, we had existing tests that attempt to store to an element of an uninitialized array. We now detect that and treat it as UB during evaluation, rather than crashing due to trying to perform field access into an uninitialized value.

Finally, many of these problems can be detected statically, but the resolve_unformed pass wasn't catching them because it missed a few expression and declaration forms. Support for those cases has been added too. This causes the pass to recurse more often, and in particular our existing recursion test started hitting a stack overflow after this, so resolve_unformed now uses `RunWithExtraStack`. In passing, remove the need to explicitly tell `RunWithExtraStack` the return type, and infer it as the return type of the callable instead.

Jon Ross-Perkins 6b7a522b3f Provide local paths for file tests. (#2830)
The intent of this change is that instead of paths looking like `explorer/testdata/foo/bar.carbon` (repo-relative), they're now just `bar.carbon` (local). The consequence is that paths should be a bit more durable in various environments, and just paths should be shorter and easier to read.

The explorer's prelude is an exception to this since it comes from data, rather than being the test target. Due to the change in approaches, it needs the regex again.

I'm still leaving a handful of `lit` tests to test end-to-end binary execution. This is why testdata directories are split (`lit` tests next to the `explorer` binary, the `cc_test`s next to `ParseAndExecute`).

Richard Smith c8141b59d9 Remove ExpectType and some calls to IsImplicitlyConvertible. (#2647)
These functions are dangerous, as they check whether conversions are possible without actually performing the conversions. In each case where they were used, explorer would crash in some cases if a user-defined conversion is required.

This change moves us more towards implicit conversions being handled by a regular function call on an interface and away from them being magical builtins. Unfortunately, this exposes a pre-existing bug that a call of the form `x.(ImplicitAs(T).Convert)()` compiles even if `x` only has an explicit conversion to `T`. That's worked around here for now, but will need a proper fix later.

Richard Smith 0219218b01 Make type contexts expect a value of type Type. (#2357)
In particular, this means that a type can implement `ImplicitAs(Type)` and have values of that type behave like types.

This implies that `()` and `{}` are no longer types. They are now values whose type is the result of converting `()` or `{}` to type `Type`, as has been discussed recently and seems to be the supported direction. This fixes various cases where these types were previously mishandled.

Jon Ross-Perkins e111418b32 Merge and label stdout/stderr for FileCheck (#2283)
Adds a simple script to merge stdout/stderr and put on labels. This is hidden to the RUN line using lit.cfg.py.

This is my solution to addressing how errors printed by the toolchain break sorting of stdout output; just put stdout first. We could also have toggles for interleaving output or such, which might help test whether we do it properly.

This also moves some previous-distributed replacement logic into lit_autoupdate_base.py: I think having that adjacent to lit.cfg.py is probably the better choice, and it reduces duplication in toolchain scripts. It happens here because I need to change the resulting commands to include the merge.

Jon Ross-Perkins b9d3d9a3df Unify lit.cfg.py approach (#2249)
On #2224 @zygoloid pointed out we needed --implicit-check-not to ensure we were correctly matching output. This is the standard way we're writing explorer tests, so I was looking at unifying our lit approaches.

This is one take on it, making more use of substitutions to bring various testing into alignment, as well as symlinks to avoid config skew (maybe I'll eventually figure out a better solution than symlinks).

Makes a couple small fixes in explorer to remove end-of-line whitespace on output.

Richard SmithandJon Meow e85f45de10 Move CHECK lines in tests next to the line that caused the output. (#1224)
Use FileCheck's `[[@LINE+n]]` mechanism to refer to the next line.

This is made awkward by a couple of things:

* We want to keep the `CHECK` lines in the original order.
* Errors are sometimes more than one line long.

The approach we use is to interleave the original lines and the check lines, putting each check line as early as possible subject to two rules:

1) Check lines never precede the 'AUTOUPDATE' line
2) Except when required by rule (1), a check line that refers to a source line by line number is never placed earlier than a source line that precedes that source line.

The actual `[[@LINE+n]]` annotations are created in a second pass after we've interleaved the lines so that we can work out the correct offsets.
